about

THIS WAS AN UNRELEASED DEMO ----

This track was never meant to be released for the public,
However we decided we would put them out there since MM&E is undergoing some significant changes. This means that the song was very rushed, is missing elements, is unmixed, and is far from perfect. But aren't we all?

Some fun facts about this demo of "...To Dust (In Decay)"
- This is the first track from one of our Work In Progress concept albums titled "O' Death: Where Is Thy Sting?"
- All drums were recorded live in a single take using a half a dozen various mics. Some of which were duct taped to stands since we were rushing it and planning on rerecording everything for the final release with far better equipment and more time.
- We recorded the guitar tracks in less than 6 total takes, for both tracks.
- We recorded bass in 3 total takes
- Vocals were recorded in 2 takes.
- All of the drums and guitars were recorded in a friend's living room. All of the bass and vocals were recorded in a kitchen.
- This song has a sequel which was to be the first track on the contrasting album "O' Life: Where Is Thy Kiss?"

We love you guys. May this unfinished piece of art inspire you to do even greater.

lyrics

PLEASE NOTE: These lyrics are merely 1 song of a 12 part project. Without the remaining songs from both albums, you won't understand the whole message. So please take these lyrics with a grain of salt. Our heart is to speak love and passion into the lives of all our friends and fans. This song is a very dark metaphor for the beginning of something beautiful.
Use a black canvas and paint it with light.
---

O' death, where is thy sting?
O' hell, where is thy victory?
Who am I now that my soul has withdrawn and left me to die?
Was I worth the time that I spent?
Was I worth the air that I breathed?
Was I worth the pain that I caused?
Was I worth the blood of your son?
Consumed in isolation.
I am a single grain of sand poured out of the cracks of the shattered hourglass,
Tossed into the lifeless ocean on the desert's broken back,
Consumed by the slack jaws of time, and crushed by the blazing sun.
Gaze upon my frail collapse, for behold, I am undone.
Who am I now that my soul has withdrawn and left me to die?
I am the dust you breath in.
Recycle me in your lungs.
I am the dirt beneath your feet.
I am in decay.
All we are is dust in the wind,
Returning to the dust we birthed within.
I welcome the worms into my flesh.
Feast on my memories.
Eat the dirt that builds my chest.
For all we are is batteries.
The beauty of life and the joy that it contains, stripped away,
Finally revealed, the truth of who I am and what I’ve made.
Pieces of a puzzle half destroyed, a statue of shattered stone.
A flash before blind eyes, a body elevated on broken bones.
Is this all we are?
A meal to fill the stomach of a starving earth?
She will destroy our bodies with her many mouths,
And digest us in her lifeless core.
But she will never...
No she will never be satisfied.
We are born dead and our greatness was always a lie.
We are born dead and we are never truly alive.
